Introduction
We are hiring for a Packaging Assistant – R&D Position Summary • Create and maintain all new packaging material component specifications in SAP. • Ensure packaging materials are EPR compliant and complete a monthly list for purchasing. • Measure and analyse department packaging components. • Engage with suppliers to ensure specifications are completed in the new Amka format. • Load specifications onto SAP after compiling and obtaining supplier sign-off. • Assist with packaging projects and factory trials. • Assist with compatibility for new products. Qualifications • Higher education Chemistry or IPSA Diploma, preferably Skills • Good communication skills • Able to work well in teams • Attention to detail • Good analytical skills • Able to work under pressure Knowledge • Must be computer literate and versatile with office programs • Packaging knowledge will be advantageous Experience • Experience in a FMCG environment

Job Title: Packaging Assistant

Position Summary

The Packaging Assistant will play a key role in supporting the packaging department by managing specifications, ensuring compliance, and contributing to product development initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining packaging material component specifications in SAP
  • Ensuring packaging materials comply with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations and submitting monthly purchasing lists
  • Measuring and analyzing packaging components within the department
  • Collaborating with suppliers to finalize specifications in the updated Amka format
  • Uploading approved specifications to SAP following supplier sign-off
  • Supporting packaging-related projects and factory trials
  • Assisting with compatibility assessments for new product launches

Qualifications

  • Higher education, preferably an IPSA Diploma
