Assistant Brand Manager
Position Overview:
In a growing portfolio comprised of some of South Africa’s biggest brands, the Assistant Brand Manager role will be critical in helping plan and carry out marketing activities. This role supports both short-term sales and long-term brand growth across different product categories. It’s a great chance to be part of a busy, agile, and successful marketing team and make a real impact. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building brands, works well in fast-paced environments, and takes initiative to solve problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Brand Manager in executing brand strategies that drive sales, market share, and profitability.
- Manage elements of the marketing mix to enhance consumer, shopper, and trade engagement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, supply chain, and external agencies to ensure seamless brand execution.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights to inform brand plans.
- Assist in the development and rollout of promotional campaigns, product launches, and packaging updates.
- Track and report on brand performance metrics, providing actionable insights.
Qualifications & Experience
Requirement | Details |
Education | Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (IMM Diploma or equivalent accepted). |
Experience | 1–3 years in a Brand Assistant or similar role within the FMCG sector. |
Preferred Institutions | Graduates from major national universities or colleges with relevant FMCG marketing experience. |
Industry Knowledge | Familiarity with the personal care industry is advantageous but not essential. |

- Proficiency in MS Office and marketing analytics tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field (IMM Diploma or equivalent accepted).
Graduates from major national universities or colleges with relevant FMCG marketing experience.
Experience of 1–3 years in a brand assistant or similar role within the FMCG sector.
