Amka Products is looking for a hard-working and detail-orientated laboratory technologist for the quality control department for finished goods to support the quality control function. The successful candidate will help ensure that finished products meet the required quality standards before being released to trade. Key responsibilities • Monitor service levels and out-of-stock situations daily. • Help ensure that production jobs missed because of Quality Control do not exceed the required target. • Conduct accurate and timely production releases according to approved standard operating procedures. • Monitor Good Manufacturing Practice requirements throughout the factory and warehouses. • Complete bills of materials for finished goods, particularly for new product launches. • Ensure that the correct specifications, methods and standard operating procedures are used and kept up to date. • Identify and report non-conformances to the QC Supervisor before products are released to trade. • Monitor product and service quality and support continuous improvements to systems and processes. • Monitor quarantined stock and ensure that stock levels are kept to a minimum. • Address production-line quality issues with team leaders and the production manager. • Request that stock be blocked when defective products are identified. Minimum requirements • Matric. • An Analytical Chemistry Diploma will be advantageous. • Qualification must be obtained from a registered institution. • Basic computer literacy. • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and warehousing. • Basic knowledge of packaging and production. • FMCG industry exposure or experience.
